International Museum of Contemporary Sculpture [MIEC], Santo Tirso - Álvaro Siza

The project includes the construction of a new building to house the collection of the international sculpture museum [MIEC] and the change of use of the building in which the Abade Pedrosa Municipal Museum [MMAP] currently operates. Although they are functionally linked, the connection between the two buildings is limited, which allows them to remain independent in terms of form and language. Despite having different programmes, the two institutions share some common areas. The aim of the project is to provide common access to the two museums through the new building by creating a single reception area: the atrium.
