Escoleta Moixaina - AULETS

The Moixaina Municipal Nursery School stands in Llubí, a small village in the interior of Mallorca. For many years the construction of the escoleta, the nursery school, had been one of the village's main demands to the local council, allowing families to remain in the community while reconciling everyday life and childcare. At the same time, the escoletas are the places where the youngest children begin to explore the world through play. The building is organised at the intersection of two spatial grids: the subdivision of the plots and the alignment of the streets. These two axes, perpendicular to one another, structure the project. The main structural grid follows the direction of the neighbouring party walls, establishing a visual continuity between the street and the rear courtyard. Circulation within the building, by contrast, follows the logic of the street network. The meeting of these two systems becomes legible in the structure itself.
