Refurbishment of Can Lis - AULETS

Since its completion in 1974, Can Lis has been inhabited while exposed to the harsh marine environment. Over time the house became a laboratory in which the behaviour of the materials used —particularly the stone and the concrete joists— could be observed, while solutions were developed to address the material deterioration that appeared over the years. The modifications carried out during these decades form part of the project itself, as living in Can Lis meant continuing to think about and construct architecture. As part of our refurbishment project, we have continued this process to ensure that the seaside house is well looked after.
