Martínez House - Alberto Ponis

After setting aside the "prototype" house, amid uncertainties and reflections, I began to take notice of the natural surroundings in Punta Sardegna and its visual qualities, whether it was the rocks or the Mediterranean macchia [scrub]. Both the rocks and the vegetation are complete volumes shaped by the wind &mdashwhether over millennia or a few seasons, respectively&mdash hence the pursuit of an integrated and contextual compositional language which sought its references among the nearly organic and imaginative rock forms. And from the fact that the new house was located in the most rugged section of the plot, in a small space surrounded by large granite boulders.
