140 Social Housing Units in 22@ Barcelona

The Greenh@use development, comprising 140 social housing units and 15 lodgings, is woven into the urban fabric of the 22@ District, a distinctive reinterpretation of Cerdà's Eixample. When the municipality of Sant Martí was annexed to Barcelona in the early twentieth century, passages were introduced to reduce the scale of the urban blocks, allowing the new grid to adapt to the existing urban fabric. The project site lies within a block traversed by one of these passages, once aligned with the historic Camí Antic de València. The building not only preserves this trace but also completes the adjacent structure by covering the party wall, while observing the alignments of the Cerdà Ensanche along the street, the chamfer and the passage.
