42 Social Housing Units in Son Servera

The 42-unit social housing development Living in Lime, located in the village of Son Servera, in the northeast of Mallorca, blends into its surroundings using locally sourced materials. Façades and boundary walls built in marès stone, together with pitched roofs clad in Arab tiles, evoke the character of the surrounding urban fabric. Positioned on a site at the edge of the municipality and facing the former railway line —now converted into a greenway— the intervention responds to the scale of the urban frontage while preserving the finer grain of the historic centre. The building is articulated in two volumes aligned with the perimeter streets and staggered to follow the natural slope of the terrain. Each volume houses six and eight dwellings per floor, respectively, organised around a walkway that pulls away from the façade at its midpoint, creating patios for light and air that ensure privacy and natural ventilation. The remaining dwellings are cross-through units, with dual orientation and open views.
