House in Time
Montemor-o-Novo, Alentejo, Portugal 2010 2014
It all began with a home renovation, consolidating the foundations to fix the rising damp. The renovation then evolved into a proposal for a more ambitious operation: to recover territory. The construction was aimed at liberating the landscape and emphasizing the qualities of the place. Projects like these ones, in this case transforming a pre-existing structure into a house and recovering the qualities of the past, are intimate exercises. This proposal emerged from our comprehension of the project's relationship with time.
