Description

Sydney Modern Project

The Art Gallery of New South Wales sits on the hill of Sydney's Domain, adjacent to the Royal Botanic Gardens and overlooking Woolloomooloo bay. The gallery has grown gradually over the past century, becoming a cluster of extensions built to accommodate their increasingly diverse collection. Sydney Modern is one of those extensions, and it is located to the north of the site, at the junction between several critical pathways: pedestrians cross the site to go to work in the morning while cars populate the highway intersection below ground.
