Bailuwan Town
The project is located at the entrance of a new residential area called Bailuwan Town, in the city of Rizhao in Shandong province, China. It consists of two elements that organise a linear passageway: a small café at the beginning, followed by a large canopy that provides covered access to all the residences.
The café acts as a gateway for the residents, serving as a meeting place for them and for public visitors. The canopy helps generate a point of connection for the development by creating new areas for recreation and socialising that are protected from the sun and the rain. It also provides a link to the Community Centre, the private area where all the residents can gather.
