Jesús Vassallo is a Spanish architect and writer. He studied at Harvard University Graduate School of Design and Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) and is currently the Gus Wortham Assistant Professor at the Rice School of Architecture. Based in Houston and Madrid, his work investigates the issue of realism in architecture through the production of design and scholarship. He is the author of Seamless: Digital Collage and Dirty Realism in Contemporary Architecture (Park Books, 2016). Some of his areas of interest include housing, construction materials and the range of scales between architecture and urbanism. In 2017, he curated A Love of the World, a series of photographic installations for the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
