Huts on the River
Comporta, Grândola, Portugal 2013
The identity of the timber wharf transcends the service lifetime of its materials. The idea of the project was to renovate several components of the wharf while maintaining its historic values. Two spaces are developed: one for unwinding with an integrated kitchen, in the same materials as the walls, and another for sleeping with a small bathroom and a shower. The constructions are made entirely of recycled timber that will continue to weather. The archetypal forms are designed on the basis of the incorporation of these uses. The varying inclinations of the ceilings put the spaces in tension in accordance with their functions.
