Smiljan Radić - Casa Rupanco House

Five years later, I've come back to this house. The vegetation has finally tamed it, and everything is in its place, just as planned. The house stretches out effortlessly, running low across the ground level. The screen of trees on the lake's shore conceals the views into the house, while the cliffs, visible from the glass roof of its corridors, unfold behind it. The rest is a stark exterior of standard corrugated zinc, much like that of a farm shed, and a chocolate interior, clad with raw walnut wood planks. The lightweight steel structure makes its spine seem fragile along its 100-metre length.
