Former College of San Diego de Alcalá
Unlike other cities in Mexico, founded on the sites of pre-existing pre-Columbian settlements or cities, the city of Guadalajara was founded ex novo by the Spanish in the mid-16th century. On a site in the city centre once occupied by the College of San Diego, the project consists of the rehabilitation of an 18th-century mansion with a central courtyard to serve as a cultural centre.
