Through the glass, there are canvases where the pump once stood, wall space where the ladder hung. London's oldest purpose-built fire station is now part of the South London Gallery. Constructed in 1867, the original building housed firefighters and their families above horse-drawn fire engines and a rear stable, before it was converted into the factory and offices for Kennedy's Sausages.
